When it comes to exploits as a baseball coach, Keith Griffin has success everywhere he leads in a dugout. As Head Coach of then-Jefferson Davis Community College in the late 1990s, he led the Warhawks to the NJCAA Division II national championship in 1998. And earlier this year (2022), as head coach of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League’s Amsterdam Mohawks, his team won that league’s championship and Griffin was crowned the 2022 PGCBL Coach of the Year. It was the eighth time he’d led the summer league team to the championship and his fourth Coach of the Year honor in thirteen years in upstate New York.

Griffin has returned to Brewton to once again lead the Warhawks baseball program...a program he knows well during his previous six-year stint in Brewton--six trips to the Alabama Juco State tournaments, 5 Conference Championships, State Championships in1998 and 2000, two trips to the NJCAA D2 World Series, and a 1998 National Championship.

With more than 1,150 wins as a head coach since taking over the varsity baseball team at Pine Forest High School in Pensacola, Fla., in 1980, Griffin is a proven winner and looks forward to getting the Warhawks on track for a run of successful seasons.

“We will have teams that are fundamentally sound, play with high energy, and play with great effort,” Griffin said of his team expectations. "We will be recruiting players that want to play in a program that is committed to three areas:  Education, Baseball, and Total Player Development that includes Our Ninth Inning Program which promotes extensive weight training and athleticism development. I look forward to returning to an area that has supported us in the past but is committed to the future! Our relationship with the community is good and we have lots of friends and former players that still live in the area,” Griffin said. “They are excited for me to be back working hard to get back this program good again.” Promoting connection between the community and his players is another focus of Griffin’s return to Coastal Alabama Community College.

Griffin will also be teaching at the Brewton campus starting in October, as part of the college’s physical education department. Griffin and his wife Teri reside in Pensacola, FL.
